This two hour session will include presentations by Ginny Yurich and Rebecca Spooner, as well as Q & A time with a panel of veteran homeschoolers. It can be hard to know where to start when it comes to beginning your homeschool journey. This special seminar is designed to help encourage those who are considering homeschooling, or those who have newly decided to homeschool-- We want you to know: You CAN do it!

Rebecca Spooner from Gather ‘Round, and Ginny Yurich from 1000 Hours Outside, will join us at our Homeschooling 101 Seminar on May 18th, from 12:30-2:30pm, at Mount Hope Church in Lansing, MI.

REBECCA WILL BE SHARING "TO THE NEWBIE... IT'S GOING TO BE OK"
If you are just starting out with homeschooling, it can feel like an entirely new world. There is a new language to learn, a plethora of "must read" books, entire niches and styles, more curriculum than you know what to do with, and questions... so many questions! The biggest thing you need to know is that there are a lot less rules than you think there are and a lot of freedom for you to find your own path. There isn't one way to do this. If you're feeling overwhelmed or not even sure why you are here, take a deep breath and come laugh, maybe cry, and just have a real conversation with someone who has grown up in this homeschool world as both a homeschooled child and now as a homeschool mom. You're not going to mess them up, everyone else doesn't always have the best answers, and you aren't here by accident. Welcome to the journey. You're not just going to survive; God wants you to thrive!

GINNY WILL BE SHARING "JUMPSTART GUIDE TO HOMESCHOOLING"
As the public schools continue to become less safe physically, emotionally, and spiritually, more and more parents are considering homeschooling. On a daily basis, parents around the country are wanting to bring their children home to learn, but they are often at a loss with where to begin. It can be overwhelming to start the process, but once you get going, homeschooling can be easy, refreshing, and enjoyable! Just like we often get a quick start guide to electronics, this session by Ginny Yurich, homeschooling mother of five and former public school educator, will be providing a quick start guide to starting your children on their home education. You will leave this session believing that you are the best teacher for your child!
