In Their Own Words: What Would Our Founding Fathers Think?

In short, I have researched every signer of our founding documents (the Declaration of Independence, the Articles of Confederation, and the United States Constitution), have written a biographical section on each of them from a religious perspective, and have appended a series of quotations (from each) relating to that signer’s views on religion and its place in American society. My premise is that we as a country have strayed far from what our Founding Fathers intended, and that the fundamental, underlying reason for that is that we have lost God. That is, modern-day America is seeking to banish God from our society, and it has led to the mess in which we now find ourselves. I then contrast what the signer said with an example from modern American life, and pose the question (for the reader to ponder and answer for him/herself), What would [that signer] think of where we are today? I have also included a tribute to my wife’s [who is a contributor to the book] grandfather, Congressman Louis C. Rabaut, who authored the “under God” amendment to the pledge of allegiance.

I truly think that this is a message that every American needs to hear, and a dialogue that we as Americans need to have, particularly at this critical moment in our history. You can explore more about the book here: http://foundersownwords.com/.
