Mike has been married to his wife Kim since 1988. They are the parents of ten children and 12+ grandchildren. Mike and Kim have been homeschooling since the early 1990s when they began a homeschool support group in Lansing, MI, that now includes more than 300 families. In 2009, Mike and Kim were appointed the Directors of INCH- the Infomation Network for Christian Homes, Michigan's statewide homeschool association. In 2019, with the help of a great team, they rebranded the organization under the name MiCHN, to further promote faith, family, and freedom to homeschool in the state of Michigan.

Mike and Kim met while attending Hope College, where he received his BA in Religion. Since college, Mike has worked as an associate pastor, insurance agent, and seven years in marketing management with one of Michigan's largest insurance companies. In 1997 Mike went into vocational ministry with CBMC, an international business and professional men's ministry. Mike invites men to 'huddle' with him daily at the
knowgodcoach.com website.

In 2023, Mike wrote and published MAN Up! A Guide to Restoring Biblical Manhood. This book is available on Amazon.

Session Titles

1. Men: Leading the Home - Male leadership has been and continues to be assaulted by the culture. The recent television show ‘Shiny Happy People,’ is just the most recent barrage against male headship in the home. Indeed, men have sinned against God and their families, but that doesn’t remove God’s mandate for men to lead their homes. Is this really God’s mandate? How can men spiritually lead their homes if God has commanded such? Let’s talk about it together.

2. Raising Christian Children - How can we faithfully obey God’s command to raise children in the way they should go? Will it work? God’s command means God expects us to do our part as faithfully and diligently as possible with His help by the power of the Holy Spirit. What can we do and should do to provide the best probable outcome for producing children who love God, are good people, and are good citizens of our nation?
