What is the ASVAB?
The ASVAB is a timed, multi-aptitude test, which is given to high school students nationwide and is developed and maintained by the Defense Department (DoD). The ASVAB helps the DoD not just determine whether a candidate is a good fit to join the service, but also which service branch you might be best for and even which military jobs one can hold after finishing basic training or boot camp. The better the ASVAB score, the broader the options.

What if my student is not interested in joining the military?
Students who are not interested in a military career can also benefit from taking the ASVAB. The ASVAB Career Exploration Program (CEP) helps students understand their aptitudes, work-related interests, and work values. The ASVAB CEP also provides students with online career exploration and career planning tools including up-to-date info on more than 1,000 occupations in business, government, non-profit, and the military.
