Mike Winter
President of MICHN & Author of MAN Up!
Mike has been married to his wife Kim since 1988. They are the parents of ten children and many grandchildren.
Mike and Kim have been homeschooling since the early 1990s with Kim starting a support group in Lansing, MI, that now includes more than 300 families they serve together today. In 2008 Mike and Kim were appointed the directors of INCH, the state home school association for Christian home educators. In 2018, Mike and Kim, with a great team's help, formed MiCHN to further promote faith, family, and freedom through homeschooling.
Mike met his wife while attending Hope College, where he received his BA in Religion. Since college, Mike has worked as an associate pastor, insurance agent, and seven years in marketing management with one of Michigan's largest insurance companies. In 1997 Mike went into vocational ministry with CBMC, an international business and professional men's ministry. Mike writes a daily blog and records a daily podcast as the know God coach huddle. Raising Kids Who Know God — Starts With Dad
Every father wants what’s best for his kids — but the greatest gift we can give them is to know God.
In this workshop we will talk about how to take up our God-given role as spiritual leaders in the home — not with pressure, but with biblical clarity and confidence. We will learn to:
- Lead our children into a growing knowledge of who God is
- Make the Bible real and relevant in everyday family life
- Build a home centered on God’s truth, love, and grace
- Model a walk with God that kids actually want to follow
Through practical teaching rooted in Scripture, we will discuss how to train up our children in the way they should go — not by perfection, but by faithful, intentional steps.
Leading Like Jesus: A Workshop for Fathers
Leadership is being like Jesus — in intention, in method, and in goal.
In this workshop, I help dads discover what it means to lead their families the way Jesus leads us: with purpose, humility, and love.
Through clear, biblical teaching and real-life application, this workshop equips fathers to:
- Reflect Christ’s character in their everyday leadership
- Shepherd their families spiritually
- Build a home where God is known, honored, and followed
