About the speaker

John James is a West Point graduate, Ranger qualified Apache combat pilot, Iraq war veteran, and Michigan job creator running to be Michigan's next Governor.

Raised on faith, hard work, and the belief that this nation's best days are always ahead, John served eight years in the U.S. Army as a Ranger qualified aviation officer, logging over 750 combat hours in Operation Iraqi Freedom and earning a Combat Action Badge and two Air Medals. He came home and built his family's business into a thriving Michigan based automotive supply chain company, creating hundreds of good paying American jobs.

Elected to Congress in 2022, John has been one of President Trump's most loyal allies, delivering results no other candidate in this race can claim. Together they delivered the Working Families Tax Cuts, eliminating taxes on tips and overtime for Michigan workers. John passed the Parents Bill of Rights, championed the Education Freedom Tax Credit, secured the F-15EX fighter mission at Selfridge ANGB, repealed a job killing EPA rule that would have devastated Michigan's trucking industry, and helped pass the first Farm Bill in eight years, banning China from buying American farmland. Because for John James, food security is national security.

John James is the only candidate for Governor who has actually cut taxes. He is a defender of life, a protector of Second Amendment rights, and a committed advocate for securing America's border. He leads the primary by double digits and is the only Republican who polls show can defeat both Democrat candidates in November.

As Governor, John's Freedom Agenda will be built around five priorities:

Economic Opportunity. Cut taxes and eliminate job killing regulations to make Michigan the most competitive state in the Midwest.

Academic Excellence. Michigan ranks 44th in education. Our kids deserve nothing less than the best.

Safe Communities. Fully fund law enforcement and crack down on fentanyl and violent repeat offenders.

Healthy Families. Parents, not Lansing bureaucrats, direct their children's education and health care.

Accountable Government. Day 1 audit of all government spending. End the revolving door, eliminate wasteful DEI and ESG programs, and restore full transparency to every dollar Lansing spends. Michigan families balance their budgets. Their government should too.

John and his wife, Elizabeth, have three young sons, John, Hudson, and Christian. Michigan gave his family a shot at the American Dream when no one else would. By the grace of God, John James made the most of it. Now he is running to make sure every family in this state gets that same shot.
