Math Games & Activities to Supplement any Curriculum - Since basic fact mastery is a means to the end of successfully navigating the world we live in, then fact practice should also be a means to an end - like having fun, scoring points, winning a game, teaching a friend, moving up in a tournament. Math games provide the variety, motivation, and context that deepen both recall and understanding. We will study the three essential dynamics that must be in place for memorization to occur, keeping this in mind: Memorization doesn’t make math mastery harder - memorization makes math mastery possible. Attendees will learn and play a variety of practical games and activities that can be used with any curriculum and which reinforce fact mastery.
